(becareful on this one, do not test me on this one)

There are five stages of Copyright Infringement Leters

Stage One

These kind of Copyright Infringement Letters are just written warnings sent to you via e-mail letting you know that you might have someone that is downloading copyrighted material. They are just generic letters sent by an automation e-mail sender by your ISP. (It is always a good thing to heed their warnings)

I see these type of Copyright Infringement Letters very unprofessional and would ignore them and delete them and classify them as spam.

Stage Two

These kind of letters are emails that are written warnings by the ISP letting you know that are mostly sent by your ISPare sent to your e-mail to scare you and warn you.

(They may threaten to shut your internet connection off) heed their warnings.

You may also get inside the email that was sent to you from your isp a link to a 3rd party website, you have the right to ignore this and delete it, why you may ask?

I see these type of Copyright Infringement Letters very unprofessional and would ignore them and delete them and classify them as spam.

Stage Three

These kinds of letters are most of the time are not sent via e-mail, but is also not impossible to get via email, if you get these types of emails, I would consider email copyright infringement letters level one and two (If you get these kinds of emails, i would recomend you to delete them, they could be spam).

For stage three these kind of copyright infrinegement letters are send via Canada Post, USPS, etc. Heed their warnings. But also be aware that the anti-p2p company can send stage three letters via e-mail if you have provided info to them by contacting them before in a level 1 and 2 email.

But the biggest reason why I would also ignore these types of copyright infringement level three letters are:

The letters are sent because you ignored the emails, is this bad that you ignored the emails, my answer IS NO. I almost classify level 3 as a level 2 because they are only sent to your mailbox because they cant tell if you actually got the emails or not, so they send the hard copy. If you get these types of letters and are not sure on what to do, you can contact fox anytime. I would contact your ISP and tell them to say the files were deleted and it will never happen again. if they require you to send the copyright owners a reply I would wait and contact fox ASAP.

Stage Four

These kinds of copyright infrinegement letters maybe sent via e-mail and/or mail service. (if they are sent via email, I would ignore it and move on) if they turn off your At this point they are threatening to cut you internet off due to service breaching the TOS (Terms Of Service) and/or already have suspended your internet connection.

they are requesting a settlement. (By stage 4 these letters are usually sent by the anti-p2p company not your ISP, but it is not impossible to get a stage four letter from your ISP) I would heed their warning and stay off P2P networks for a while.

Stage five

These types of copyright infringement letters are sent via mail service, peace officer, or court pointed offical to give you a subpoena to either invite you to court and/or start the litigation process. By this point I cant help too much, this is where you hire a lawyer and fight it out with them. I can give out advise for stage 5 copyright infringement letters and assist your lawyer with information. But I am not to be held accountable for my advise.

I can recomend some good laywers for you if you wish. But that is up to you...
